UACES conference Leeds

On the 2nd September Dr Arno van der Zwet attended the UACES conference 2013 at the University of Leeds. The conference brought together specialists on a wide range of European topics. Arno presented two papers predicting attitudes to immigration in stateless nationalist and regionalist parties and Growing pains: A maturation framework for territorial cooperation. Noteworthy was the considerable academic interest in regional issues at the UACES conference this year. There were no fewer than five panels that included papers with a regional perspective. This compared to only one or two in previous years, demonstrating the increasing prominence of regional topics in academic scholarship.
