Training the managers of EU Cohesion policy in Poland

22 January 2006

As part of the 'Academy of Regional Development' organised by the European Centre for Regional and Local Studies (University of Warsaw), John Bachtler gave lectures on EU Cohesion policy at a course in Warsaw on 20-21 January 2006.

The lectures, which were attended by almost 100 government officials from national ministries and regional authorities, explained the process of strategic planning and programme preparation for Structural and Cohesion Funds and demonstrated how the management and delivery of EU Cohesion policy has evolved in EU15 Member States.

The course was part of a wide-ranging training programme funded by the Polish Ministry of Regional Development to prepare Polish government bodies for the implementation of EU Cohesion policy in the 2007-2013 period.
