EPRC presentation at EDAS Conference in Inverness, 21 November 2006

22 November 2006

Laura Polverari delivered a presentation at a conference on 'EU Funding and Scotland's Economic Regeneration and Development: The Future'.

The event was organised by EDAS, the Economic Development Association (Scotland), in partnership with the Highland Council and was attended by over 30 delegates from Local Authorities, Structural Funds partnerships, consultants and socio-economic actors involved in the delivery of Structural Funds funded-projects from throughout Scotland.

Laura's presentation provided a pan-European overview of the changing context for Structural Funds programming in the period 2007-13. Other presentations discussed the impact of the Funds in Scotland from their early days to date (Marta Smart - Scotland Europa), the experiences with innovative ways of delivering Structural Funds projects in Newport, South Wales (Claire Owen Evans, Newport City Council) and a case study on Kinlochleven, where Structural Funds support was utilised to regenerate the village after the dismissal of the Alcan aluminium plant in 2000 (Councillor Drew McFarlane-Slack).
