02 April 2007

EU Cohesion policy and the European 'model of society' is the theme of a book chapter by John Bachtler and Laura Polverari in the newly published book 'Territorial Cohesion and the European Model of Society' edited by Andreas Faludi.

The chapter discusses the broader interpretation of the role of regional policy at European at national levels over the past decade and considers how 'territorial cohesion has become part of the policy agenda for the Structural Funds.

It examines how the 2000-06 programmes supported urban development and territorial cooperation, and reflects on the possible territorial cohesion orientation of the 2007-13 strategies.'Territorial Cohesion and the European Model of Society' edited by Andreas Faludi, published by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, 2007.
