EPRC Presentation at EDAS conference on 'EU Funding & Scotland's Economic Development & Regeneration - The Future'

28 April 2007

Laura Polverari delivered a presentation at a conference on 'EU Funding & Scotland's Economic Regeneration & Development: The Future' held in Glasgow on the 26th April 2007.

The event was organised by EDAS, the Economic Development Association (Scotland), following on from the success of a similar event in Inverness, last November.

Laura's presentation provided a pan-European overview of the changing context for Structural Funds programming in the period 2007-13 and of the state of play of the negotiations of the new programmes, providing also some insights on new strategies and implementation arrangements.

Attended by almost one hundred delegates from Local Authorities, Structural Funds partnerships, consultants, third sector organisations and other socio-economic actors, the seminar included also presentations on the historical context to EU Funding in Scotland (Donald MacInnes : Chief Executive, Scotland Europa); the 2007-13 Scottish Structural Funds programming framework (Phil Raines, Head of Division, Scottish Executive) and on alternative funding sources (David Gourlay, Senior Consultant and Director, Hall Aitken).
