Polish debate on the future of Cohesion policy

15 May 2008

John Bachtler was an invited expert at an informal meeting on the reform of Cohesion policy post-2013 organised by the Polish Ministry of Regional Development and EUROREG (University of Warsaw) which took place on 13-14 May in Falenty, near Warsaw.

The debate, which involved a mix of Polish and international experts and government officials, discussed the EU in a global perspective, the rationale and performance of EU Cohesion policy, and the future directions of Cohesion policy reform. In his presentation, John Bachtler discussed the impact and added value of Structural Funds and ways in which the efficiency of management and implementation could be improved.
