New article on Structural Funds and Rural Development

An article by John Bachtler on Structural Funds and rural development features in the latest issue of the Newsletter on Development and Transition, published by the United Nations Development Programme and the London School of Economics & Political Science.

John Bachtler's article discusses the new challenges for EU rural development arising from EU enlargement, the initial experiences of implementing EU rural development funding in the new Member States, and the implications of the EU budget review for Cohesion policy and the Common Agricultural Policy.
