New perspectives on EU competition and cohesion polices

08 May 2009

Three new research papers by EPRC staff have been published, assessing the progress and performance of EU Competition policy and EU Cohesion policy, as well as identifying issues for future debate and reform. Published in the EPRC European Policy Research Paper series, the papers are based on cross-national research conducted under the auspices of the  European Regional Policy Research Consortium (EoRPA) : an international programme of comparative research carried out by EPRC and funded by government departments from ten countries. Available here

The three research papers are:

Measure for Measure: Recent developments in EU competition policy and regional aid control (Fiona Wishlade)

Reconsidering Cohesion Policy: The Contested Debate on Territorial Cohesion (Katja Mirwaldt Irene McMaster and John Bachtler)

Ideas for Budget and Policy Reform: Reviewing the Debate on Cohesion Policy 2014+ (John Bachtler, Carlos Mendez and Fiona Wishlade)

These papers : and others in the European Policy Research Paper series - can be downloaded here .
