EPRC on the Northern Periphery

19 May 2009

Dr Irene McMaster was an invited speaker at a meeting of the Northern Periphery Programme Evaluation Steering Group on 11-12 May 2009 in Copenhagen.

The Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) 2007-2013 aims to help peripheral and remote communities on the northern margins of Europe to develop their economic, social and environmental potential. Co-financed by the European Union's Structural Funds, the NPP covers the EU Member States of Finland, Ireland, Ireland, United Kingdom (Northern Ireland, Scotland) and Sweden and the non-EU Member States of the Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and Norway.

Irene's presentation was arranged to inform the thinking of NPP officials on the future evaluation of the NPP, drawing on EPRC experience of evaluating the 2000-06 programme, the ex ante evaluation of the 2007-13 programme and wider evaluation experience across Europe.
