EPRC evidence at Scottish Parliament European Committee meeting

15 December 2009

The European Union is currently engaged in a wide-ranging reassessment of its spending priorities which will inform the next EU multi-annual financial framework starting in 2014.

The European & External Relations Committee is undertaking the Inquiry to scrutinise the Scottish Government's approach to the EU budget review, and to identify the key issues of relevance to Scotland raised by the review. John Bachtler's evidence focused on the opportunities and challenges for Scotland arising from the review, in particular those associated with the reform of EU Cohesion policy, and the scope for maximising future EU funding for Scotland.
