New EPRC papers on European policy issues

26 March 2010

Five new papers on different aspects of regional development and regional policy, and written by EPRC staff, have been published in the European Policy Research Paper Series.

Based on research undertaken under the EoRPA research programme during 2009, three of the papers deal with the impact of financial and economic crisis.

  • The regional dimensions of the crisis across Europe are the subject of a paper by Sara Davies, Stefan Kah and Charlie Woods (EPRP, No.70).
  • The broader aspects of regional policy change under crisis conditions are addressed in a paper by Douglas Yuill, Irene McMaster and Katja Mirwaldt (EPRP, No. 71),
  • while Fiona Wishlade considers the implications of the crisis for EU Competition policy and regional aid control (EPRP, No.72).
  • A different regional policy challenge : demographic change : is discussed in a paper by Martin Ferry and Heidi Vironen (EPRP, No.73).
  • Lastly, the debate on the longer term future of EU Cohesion policy is analysed by John Bachtler, Carlos Mendez and Fiona Wishlade (EPRP, No.74).

The full list of European Policy Research Papers are accessible on the EPRC website, and contact details of the authors are available here.
