EPRC at the Scottish Parliament

15 November 2010

Professor John Bachtler was an invited speaker at the 'Regeneration in Hard Times' seminar held in the Scottish Parliament on 10 November 2010, hosted by Helen Eadie MSP and organised by the Cross-Party Group on Industrial Communities and the Industrial Communities Alliance in Scotland.

The seminar was held to discuss the major challenges face industrial communities in responding to the impact of the current recession in addition to sweeping budget cuts which will affect the capacity of economic development bodies to deliver effective regeneration.

John Bachtler's presentation was on the subject of 'What next for European Funding post 2013?' and discussed the recent EU budget review and the main conclusions of the European Commission 's Fifth Report on Economic and Social Cohesion published on the day of the seminar.
