New Publication: Special Issue of the Rivista Giuridica of the Mezzogiorno on Cohesion policy implementation and programming in Campania and Lazio

20 May 2015

A new, double issue of SVIMEZ' Rivista Giuridica del Mezzogiorno (1-2/2015) has just been published. Co-edited by Agnese Claroni, Manin Carabba and Laura Polverari, of EPRC.

The issue includes a multidisciplinary collection of articles that examine the programming of Cohesion policy in two key Italian regions - Campania, in the Mezzogiorno, and Lazio, in the Centre-North of Italy. The collection includes articles from a varied set of perspectives, with pieces by academics, policy-makers (from the EU, national and regional institutions), politicians and evaluators.

The topics discussed range from

  • Italy's role in the negotiation of the new budget and ESI Funds regulations (Rusca), to the role of the Structural Funds in supporting investments and growth during the recent crisis (Bubbico and Catalina-Rubianes),
  • to the lessons learnt from past programming cycles (the pieces by Aniello and by Polverari and Tagle),
  • to the governance of Cohesion policy in Italy in the light of recent institutional and constitutional reforms (the articles by Boscariol and Marra),
  • and the overhaul of the approach to programme management and implementation in the region of Lazio (Manzella).
