EPRC financial instruments research contributes to Scottish Government Programme for Scotland

08 September 2015

EPRC research on financial instruments contributed to the Scottish Government's recent report on the Market for SME finance in Scotland as well as the proposals for a Scottish Business Development Bank contained in A Stronger Scotland: The Government's Programme for Scotland 2015-16. Options for the Bank, including how it will operate, and a timetable for introduction, will be set out in late 2015. The EPRC paper on Business Development Banks and Funds in Europe examined a broad range of the structures and funds which have been put in place to support economic development in Europe. The paper considered Business Development Bank models in Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Wales and the UK.
