EPRC at the 70th Anniversary Conference of the Transdanubian Research Institute

03 July 2013

John Bachtler was an invited plenary speaker at the 70th Anniversary Conference of the Transdanubian Research Institute"Territorial Cohesion in Europe" held in Pécs, southern Hungary on 27-28 June 2013.

Celebrating the wide-ranging international research collaboration of the TRI including over 20 years cooperation with EPRC the Conference brought together regional scholars from a range of regional and urban studies disciplines from across Europe. John Bachtler's presentation was titled "Reflections on the Performance of Cohesion Policy", reviewing what is known about the performance of Structural and Cohesion Funds, the proposals for improving effectiveness in 2014-2020 and the prospects for greater performance.

All of the papers from the Conference have been published in a book "Territorial Cohesion in Europe" edited by Ilona Palne Kovacss, James Scott and Zolta¡n Ga¡l and published by the Institute for Regional Studies (of which the TRI is now part) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
