EPRC at INFORM-INIO meeting: Making the results of Cohesion policy more visible to citizens

01 June 2017

EPRC was represented at the INFORM and INIO network meeting of EU Cohesion policy communicators held on 30 May – 1 June in Burgenland, Austria.

In a panel debate on the challenges and opportunities for communicating Cohesion policy, Dr. Carlos Mendez highlighted key findings from IQ-Net research as well as methodological approaches for improving understanding of the impact of Cohesion policy on citizens’ attitudes drawing on the COHESIFY project.

Dana Spinant, Director of Budget, Communication and General Affairs at DG REGIO, provided a Commission perspective, while a journalist view was provided by Gerhard Maier of the ORF.

The conference also provided an opportunity to reflect on the Commission's forthcoming action plan on communication, the future of Cohesion policy communication in the post-2020 period as well as practical approaches to creative story-telling using mobile apps and emotional impact videos.
