EPRC speaker at international symposium in Brazil on "Crisis of capitalism, State and Regional Development"

Laura Polverari was an invited speaker at the Sixth International Conference on Regional Development - Santa Cruz do Sul, 4-6 September 2013 - organised by University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), in cooperation with the Brazilian Observatory on Regional Development, under the scientific direction of Prof. Virginia Elisabeta Etges and Prof. Silvio Cezar Arend of UNISC.

The conference, which was centred on the topic of the "Crisis of capitalism, State and Regional Development", included presenters from various universities in Brazil, as well as international speakers from universities in Austria, Canada, Italy, Venezuela and the UK. Laura's presentation - which was part of a session entitled "Regional Development - Reports of experiences", that included Laura's presentation and a presentation by the Brazilian State Secretary for Regional Development, Sergio Duarte Castro - focused on the birth and evolution of European Cohesion policy, its long-term achievements and future implementation.
