EPRC presentation at Gender Evaluation Conference

01 January 2003

Laura Polverari delivered a presentation at the conference on 'Gender Evaluation in the Structural Funds' (Valutazione di genere nella programmazione dei Fondi strutturali) which took place in Palermo on the 13th and 14th November 2003.

The conference was one of the conclusive events of the Italian Presidency Semester and was hosted by the Italian Department for Equal Opportunities, in cooperation with the Region Sicily, the Province of Palermo and the Municipality of Palermo.

Laura's presentation dealt with the 'Qualification and Quantification of the Effects of Policies on Gender Equality. Some considerations on Irish and British Experiences' ('Qualificazione e quantificazione degli effetti delle politiche sulla parità  di genere. Alcune notazioni sulle esperienze irlandese e britannica'). It illustrated the overall framework, challenges and actions for evaluating the equality dimension in the co-funded programmes of Ireland and Scotland, and provided examples of good practice on the integration of the theme of equal opportunities in the evaluations.
