New Project: 'Innovative Forms of Support to Firms in Europe'

01 January 2004

EPRC has been commissioned by the Italian Minister of Productive Activities and by IPI, the national Industrial Promotion Agency, to identify through the analysis of the experiences of selected European regions, examples of innovative aid schemes that would be of direct benefit to Italian regions in their development of future regional policy and business aid schemes.

The project stems from IPI's work within the Task Force on Local Entrepreneurial Development in the Mezzogiorno and from the on-going exchange of experience on the implementation of Structural Fund programmes in Europe taking place through the 'IQ-Net' network, managed and facilitated by EPRC. The investigation will be focussed primarily on existing co-funded regional aid schemes, addressing current experiences that better interpret (in the light of the needs of enterprises) the recent programming guidelines by the EU.
