The University's Interdepartmental Regional Studies Group held its first seminar, with an audience of around 80, on Tuesday 12th October 2004 at 4.30pm, with Regius Professor of Public Law at Edinburgh University and former Member of the European Parliament, Professor Sir Neil MacCormick QC, speaking on the theme "The European Union Constitution: Radical change or evolution?"

The Interdepartmental Regional Studies Group is a joint initiative of the following departments: Department of Economics, Department of Geography and Sociology, Department of Government, European Policies Research Centre, the Fraser of Allander Institute for Research on the Scottish Economy, and the Scottish Hotel School.
