New project: 'The Territorial Effects of the Structural Funds (ESPON programme, measure 2.2.1)

09 April 2003

EPRC,as part of a European research group led by Swedish partner institute Nordregio (and comprising researchers from institutes in Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain) has been awarded a contract to analyse the territorial effects of past and current Structural Funds.

The project, which runs until 2005 with a total budget of 510,000 Euros, deals with the Territorial Impact Assessment of past Structural Fund programmes and with the appraisal of the potential territorial impact of current Structural Fund programmes. The study is being undertaken with a view to formulating policy recommendations for the reform of the funds for the post 2006 period and to improving their capacity of delivering enhanced territorial cohesion.

Further details on the project are available from Dr. Kai Bähme at Nordregio here
