New Publication: Comparing the influence of Structural Funds programmes on regional development approaches in Western Scotland and Silesia - Adaptation or Assimilation?

Martin Ferry has contributed an article to the European Journal of Spatial Development.

The article assesses the influence of implementing Structural Funds programmes on the content and delivery of domestic regional development activities in Member States. By comparing cases from Western Scotland and Silesia, the paper illustrates the wide variation in the extent and direction of this influence across Member States.

In particular, programmes in New Member States from Central and Eastern Europe are being implemented in a radically different regional development environment than elsewhere in the EU, with implications for their role and impact. The online version of this article can be found here:
