EPRC Evidence to the House of Lords

21 December 2011

Professor John Bachtler gave evidence to the House of Lords on the reform of EU Cohesion policy on 20 December 2011.

The evidence session was organised by the EU Sub-Committee of the Economic and Financial Affairs and International Trade select Committee to consider the European Commission's proposals for Cohesion policy after 2013, and will inform the Select Committee's inquiry into the EU Financial Framework 2014-2020.

John Bachtler's evidence covered the Commission's proposals for a new regional architecture, policy objectives, thematic concentration, conditionalities, absorption capacity and use of innovative financial instruments.
