EPRC research on Cohesion policy and national regional policy presented in Poland

20 April 2015

Professor John Bachtler and Dr Martin Ferry were invited speakers at a meeting of government ministries and Marshal's Offices in Poland on the subject of 'Main Challenges of Cohesion Policy Implementation 2014-20' held at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development in Warsaw on 17 April 2015.

The meeting was organised to present the results of research conducted by EPRC under the European Regional Policy Research Consortium (EoRPA). John Bachtler presented a plenary paper on 'Policy Reform under Challenging Conditions' reviewing the progress of implementation of the 2014-20 Cohesion policy programmes to date and focusing particularly on the effects of thematic concentration, ex ante conditionalities and Country-Specific Recommendations.

Two further workshops were also held on Simplification and Efficient Management (led by John Bachtler) and the Strategic Coherence of Regional Policy in Poland (led by Martin Ferry).
