EPRC engagement in Nordic-Baltic discussions on territorial cohesion

28 September 2012

John Bachtler was an invited plenary speaker at the final conference of the ESPON-funded Nordic-Baltic Dialogues on Transnational Perspectives in Spatial Planning on 'Territorial Cohesion in Europe and in the BSR', held at Jurmala, Latvia, on 30-31 August 2012.

Presenting a paper on 'The Future of Cohesion Policy and the Territorial Dimension', John reviewed the current negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-20, the implications for Cohesion policy and the territorial dimensions of the proposals for Structural Funds.

The NORBA conference was organised to provide a transnational arena and forum for policy makers and researchers to discuss and reflect on current territorial development trends, opportunities and insights recognized in different regions and various contexts.
