Future of regional innovation and competitiveness policy

Dr Sara Davies presented EPRC research on 'Innovation policies in structurally weaker regions' on 15 November 2012 at a workshop hosted by the UK Innovation Research Centre (UK-IRC), co-located at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.

Other presenters included Philip McCann (University of Groningen) on modern regional and innovation policy; Jose Enrique Garcilazo (OECD) on the contribution of regions to aggregate growth; Michael Kitson (University of Cambridge) on new directions for regional policy; and John Edwards (European Commission's Joint Research Centre on Technological Studies) on smart specialisation, heterogeneity and multi-level governance.
