Rethinking regional development policy-making

20 March 2018

EPRC at the launch of new OECD regional policy study

The OECD and DG Regio launched a collection of studies on 'rethinking' regional development policy at a seminar in Brussels. The use of financial instruments is one of several themes addressed, and Fiona Wishlade provided an overview of EPRC's contribution to the study, co-authored with Rona Michie. The EPRC study considers the use of financial instruments as tools of Cohesion policy and regional development more generally, but also explores their limitations and the pre-conditions that need to be in place for financial instruments to be implemented successfully.

The background study on financial instruments is available here:

The OECD report on 'Rethinking Regional Development Policy-making' is here.
