On the 24th September Professor John Bachtler, Dr Irene McMaster and Dr Arno van der Zwet attended the Arctic Dimension as a New Driver in International Regional Cooperation seminar in Brussels. The event was organised by Norwegian and Scottish government and brought together policy makers, programme managers and stakeholders with an interest in Arctic developments.
The seminar focused on the increased significance of the Arctic and how the developments and changes in the Arctic Region can strengthen and contribute to regional development and cooperation through the strategic and coordinated use of different European cooperation programmes. Professor John Bachtler moderated a panel discussion with representatives from several cooperation programmes in the High North and the Arctic.
The seminar is part of a series of events organised to discuss developments in the Arctic from a regional perspective.
