John Bachtler is a co-editor, together with Marcin Dabrowski and Francois Bafoil, of a new special issue of European Urban and Regional Studies on multi-level governance (MLG) and partnership.
Drawing on papers presented at a meeting of the Regional Studies Association EU Cohesion Policy network, the papers assess and reappraise critically MLG and partnership as tools for effective delivery of Cohesion policy, while shedding light on their under-researched and often less visible effects concerning the interaction between levels of government and policy stakeholders.
The research presented across the five papers included in the special issue takes stock of the experiences and lessons from EU Cohesion policy, while attempting to draw wider conclusions for theory and practice relating to cross-level and cross-sectoral collaborative policy-making.
The introduction to the special issue is available here.
