Dr Martin Ferry is one of the authors of a new international publication on regional development evaluation.
Based on a scientific project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and involving researchers from five countries, the book 'Evaluation of operational programmes of regional development', edited by Dr Adam Drobniak, explores the role of evaluation in the strategic development choices made by policymakers in formulating EU-funded regional development programmes.
A chapter by Martin Ferry examines the role of evaluation in the Lowlands & Uplands Scotland European Regional Development programme, assessing the conceptual rationale, and organisational and social feasibility of the approach to allocating EU Structural Funds in Scotland during the 2007-13 period.
