Dr Martin Ferry is one of the authors of a new international publication on evaluation systems in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Slovak Republic. Led by the Ministry of Regional Development in Poland as part of the Visegrad evaluation group, the book notes the increasing significance attached to evaluation as a tool of policy management in these countries.
This has been prompted by the experience of managing and implementing Cohesion policy. It includes contributions from country experts that chart the emergence of evaluation, assess the current situation regarding evaluation systems and markets and highlight the best practices and most important challenges in terms of future development.
An introductory chapter by Martin Ferry synthesises the main issues and themes highlighted in the country sections.
