During February David Charles was a visiting fellow at Curtin Business School in Perth, Western Australia where he is collaborating on research on knowledge exchange in clusters. David was formerly dean of R&D at the Business School and retains a position as adjunct professor there. Whilst he was in Perth David gave presentations within the business school on his recent work on open innovation in Scottish SMEs and on smart specialisation. He also did a presentation at the John Curtin Institute for Public Policy on university regional engagement and its measurement.
