EPRC, in collaboration with research partners LEI Wageninen, Ecologic Institute and the Regional Association of Chambers of Commerce of Veneto (UCV), has published a new report for the Horizon 2020 funded BioSTEP project. The report, 'Case studies of regional bioeconomy strategies across Europe', draws together research findings from four European regions to identify how the bioeconomy has been defined in regional strategies, and the ways in which those regional strategies have been initiated and implemented. Each of the regions has a distinctive approach, specialising around its particular assets and strengths, as well as its core stakeholders. The final section of the report examines examples of stakeholder engagement in the broader sense and draws out good practice examples. This report represents the latest output in EPRC's ongoing involvement in the BioSTEP project, which focusses on participative governance in the bioeconomy.
The report can be downloaded here. Please find further detail on our project page and on the BioSTEP website.
