On 17 June, a seminar marking the public launch of the COHESIFY project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme took place at the Committee of the Regions. The meeting brought together the project's partners, advisory board members and experts on Cohesion policy and EU communication more generally to share and discuss experiences, challenges and lessons for communicating Cohesion policy to citizens. The seminar covered EU perspectives on Cohesion policy communication as well as country and regional experiences. Presentations by representatives from DG REGIO, the Committee of the Regions and Member States were followed by roundtable discussions. The presentations from the seminar are available at the website of the COHESIFY project.
The COHESIFY project, led by Professor John Bachtler and Dr Carlos Mendez of EPRC, aims to assess the impact of EU Cohesion policy on citizens' perceptions of and identification with the EU and how the communication of EU Cohesion policy to citizens can be improved. The EPRC-led consortium comprises 8 universities and 2 SMEs from 10 EU Member States.
