The meeting was held in Katowice (Śląskie, Poland) and was hosted by Śląskie Voivodeship, Managing Authority of Śląskie's 2007-13 Regional Operational Programmes.
An introduction to the region and its development strategy by the local hosts on the first day was complemented by a visit to projects funded by EU Cohesion policy in the town of Pszczyna on the last day. During the main conference day, on May 29, plenary and workshop discussions focussed on the launch of current programmes and closure of past programmes, and on the delivery of the sustainable development agenda through Cohesion policy. EPRC presentations were supplemented by presentations from the European Commission and the Department for Communities and Local Government (UK).
