Regional Marine Cooperation

On 29th of January 2015 Irene McMaster attended the DG MARE stakeholder conference 'Regional Cooperation on Energy and Maritime Spatial Planning in the North Sea', which was held in Edinburgh The North Sea is one of the most intensively used sea basins in the world. A key challenge in the North Sea is the management of conflicts between different sectors, as well as finding a sustainable balance between environmental protection, blue growth and social issues. This brings with it a pressing need for collaboration between NSR States, regions and private partners, which was the focus of the conference
