EPRC seminar - "Managing Urban Economies to Sustain Economic Prosperity"

Her presentation on 'Managing Urban Economies to Sustain Economic Prosperity' showed how spatial modelling techniques and evidence-based research are used to manage rapid urban growth in the case of Brisbane. Urban economies in general are the key to economic success for most advanced economies as knowledge based services have taken the place of manufacturing as driver of growth. However, balancing the needs of urban businesses with increasing residential densification, community needs and rising land values is a critical issue for local government.
