On Wednesday 29 April, EPRC hosted a seminar by Dr Brian McVey, Director of Strategy at Scottish Enterprise. The aim of the seminar was to highlight and examine the challenges inherent in the 2014-2020 phase of the EU's competitive, innovation and enterprise policy. The changing economic and political situations at Scottish, UK and EU-level raise questions about what Scotland needs to do to make the most of new opportunities. Key tasks identified include the need for stronger collaboration between actors in Scotland (i.e. coherence of action), the need to develop stronger Scotland-EU relations, and the need to maximise Scotland's international competitiveness through balancing internationalisation, investment, innovation and inclusive growth. The presentation slides can be downloaded I:\HASS\Centres\EPRC\A-Department\EPRC Seminars\Powerpoint files\EPRC Seminar Series Brian McVey.pdf
