On 12 January, EPRC hosted a joint European Movement and School of Government and Public Policy lecture. Donald Henderson, the Scottish Government's EU Director and Head of Office in Brussels, presented an outlook on the various challenges the EU faces in 2011. In 2010 the EU has scarcely been out of the headlines as successive financial crises have beset the members of the Eurozone. Indeed, the Commission's Work Programme for 2011 highlights dealing with the economic crisis and building the momentum of the recovery as its most pressing priority. Donald Henderson presented a reflection on the EU's performance in 2010 and an insight into the practicalities of addressing the policy issues facing the EU in the coming year.
