On 21 September 2016, Martin Ferry and Stefan Kah of EPRC discussed the results of recent EPRC research on Maximisation of Synergies between European Structural and Investment Funds and Other EU Instruments to Attain Europe 2020 Goals, carried out on behalf of the European Parliament. The presentation assessed these synergies, identify different arenas for their pursuit (regulatory settings, governance arrangements, strategic frameworks and implementation approaches), noted challenges and achievements thus far, and, looking towards 2020, considered the potential for maximising synergies in the future.
