On 11 April, EPRC hosted a seminar by Dr Peter Wilgaard Larsen from Aalborg University, presenting the results of his doctoral research on partnership working in Denmark's six Regional Growth Fora.
Peter's discussion addressed the role of the Fora in stimulating partnership working in Danish regions, particularly from the perspective of business development following the structural governance reform which took place in Denmark in 2007. In particular, his research considered five conditions necessary for effective partnership creation, and the nature of partnership as a means for better implementation of regional development. His insights included the importance of the Fora as facilitators, as opposed to directive 'managers', and the necessity for institutionalisation of the partnership principle, amongst others. His results included a summary of each Danish region in light of these five conditions. The slides from the presentation are available
